Tips
for wearing hats
If you wear glasses
If you wear glasses, try
wearing your hat with the brim turned up, it’s more flattering.
Brims that swoop up on one side and asymmetric shapes are more
flattering.
Prominent nose or ears
Hats should have a forward movement. The objective is to
draw attention to the hat and away from the nose or ears
or the other little things you prefer not to highlight.
Hair
Hair is a very important consideration when wearing a
hat. Hair tucked behind your ears and perhaps put up into the hat
will
look the most flattering. If you like your hair to be seen, make
sure you tuck it behind your ear. Never be talked into hiding your
hair under a hat if this makes you feel insecure.
Double Chin
If you have a double chin wear your hat slightly lower at the
front, this will ensure you keep your head lifted thus reducing
the appearance of a double chin.
Comfort, comfort
Above all, choose a hat you feel
comfortable wearing. People nowadays do not wear hats as a rule
and it may
take a little
time to feel comfortable wearing one, wearing your hat around
the house before the big day may help.
When handling hats pick them up from the crown and once on the
head put into position by adjusting from the crown rather than
from the brim.
